Science class meets daily. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays we meet for longer blocks of one hour and twenty five minutes. On Tuesdays and Fridays we meet for 45 minute periods. Our class consists of labs, lecture, and project time.
We are beginning our year with a study of astronomy. Students will be keeping a moon observation journal until October 16. They are expected to observe the moon every night during this project. If they are unable to see the moon, for whatever reason, they need to have their journal signed by a parent.
Ask your child how "What's up DOC?" can be used to help them understand the phases of the moon and determine if the moon is waning or waxing.
For the remainder of the marking period, students will work on projects which model the Earth's orbit around the sun.
